Hi, I’m Karim Hassan Full-Stack Developer/Cloud Learner

I design and build business systems, APIs and workflow-heavy applications with Laravel, Vue / Quasar and MySQL — then I take them all the way to production myself. This very portfolio was built and deployed by me on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, front to back, with no managed hosting in between.

About me

Engineering with the
business logic in mind.

I’m Karim Hassan, a full-stack developer who works across backend services, frontend experiences, data modelling and application infrastructure — with a practical focus on systems people rely on every day.

What I actually do

My work centres on Laravel and PHP applications, GraphQL and REST APIs, relational data and Vue / Quasar interfaces. I enjoy turning complicated business requirements into clear models, predictable workflows and usable screens — then shipping them on infrastructure I provisioned, configured and understand.

  • Model the real workflowUnderstand entities, state changes, edge cases and permissions before writing code.
  • Keep responsibilities clearSeparate business rules, API behaviour, UI state and infrastructure concerns.
  • Own the deploymentContainers, reverse proxy, DNS, TLS and cloud networking — not just the code that runs on top.

What I bring together

Not just a UI or an API — the complete system from data entry through business processing to deployment.

  • Business workflow design
  • REST & GraphQL API design
  • Relational data modelling
  • Role & permission-aware systems
  • Containerised, self-managed deployments

Deployment & infrastructure

Not just built.
Deployed by me.

This portfolio does not sit on a managed site builder or a one-click host. I provisioned the server, configured the stack and deployed the site myself on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Self-hosted · Self-managed

Running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

I set up the compute instance, hardened and configured the Linux environment, wired up Nginx as the reverse proxy with TLS, and published the site from my own Git repository. No third-party hosting panel, no drag-and-drop builder — the deployment is part of the engineering work I actually do.

  1. Git repository Source lives in version control on GitHub
  2. Build & containerise Static assets and app built reproducibly
  3. OCI compute Oracle Cloud instance I provisioned and manage
  4. Nginx + TLS Reverse proxy, security headers, HTTPS
  5. Live site You are looking at it right now
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute instance Linux Nginx HTTPS / TLS Git deployment Docker VCN & firewall rules
# pull the latest build on my OCI instance
$ git pull origin main
$ sudo nginx -t
$ sudo systemctl reload nginx
✓ nginx: configuration file test is successful
✓ deploy complete — site is live

Every change goes live through my own deployment process — not a hosting provider’s button.

Learned by doing Subnets, route tables, security lists and firewalls — configured by hand, understood end to end.
Cost-aware Small, right-sized experiments that keep cloud bills predictable while I learn.

How I work

Understand first.
Build with intent.

I prefer understanding why a tool or design is used instead of memorising commands. That approach shapes how I build, debug and deploy.

01

Understand the domain

Clarify actors, data, permissions, lifecycle states and edge cases before touching code.

02

Design the system

Shape models, API contracts, business rules and clear responsibilities.

03

Build the experience

Connect backend behaviour to clear, responsive, maintainable UI.

04

Deploy and own it

Ship on infrastructure I configured, then monitor, debug and improve it.
